Black Cat Group appoints new Chief Executive as business enters next phase of growth
We are excited to announce the appointment of Andrew Cleverley as our Chief Executive Officer, commencing June 2026!
Andrew brings more than 20 years of leadership experience across the tourism and hospitality sector in both New Zealand and Australia. He has held senior roles leading large, complex operations, most recently as General Manager – Food & Beverage at Venues Ōtautahi, where he oversees hospitality delivery across Christchurch’s major venues, managing more than 500 staff and is currently working on the opening of One New Zealand Stadium.
His career spans leading tourism and hospitality operators across New Zealand and Australia, including The Hermitage at Aoraki Mt Cook, Thredbo Ski Resort, Tourism Holdings and Rydges Hotels. He has a strong track record in operational leadership, delivering outstanding tourism and hospitality experiences and driving performance across multi-site businesses. Black Cat Group Director Paul Bingham says Andrew’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for the business.

His focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences aligns perfectly with our values and we’re excited to welcome him to the Black Cat family.” Black Cat Cruises has been operating for more than 40 years and recently expanded with the acquisition of Kaikōura-based Encounter Kaikoura, further strengthening its presence in New Zealand’s marine tourism sector.
