The Breeze 50

Yes, this is the 50th edition of the Breeze and it is now 10 years old. Back in 1999 sending information via email to our customers and trade partners was quite unique… we were one of the first tourism companies to do it. Lots of people over the years have asked me about the Breeze; I have written every single one of those 50 editions! In this and future editions we’ll look back at some of the highlights of those 10 years. Thanks for reading and for your support of Black Cat Cruises.

Cheers, Paul.

The Breeze 49

I am often asked whether we operate all year round; and of course we do subject to weather conditions. The South Island winter can bring amazing bright clear and cool days and of course there will always be a few we’d rather forget. It is a very busy time for us behind the scenes and you’ll see in this 49th edition of the Breeze our latest news and promotions – ranging from winning the ferry contract and an enviro-silver award to some interesting visitors (the coolest boat in the world and an Orca called Corkscrew). There’s also news of the dolphin sanctuary and our efforts to eliminate penguin predators from the Harbour.

Cheers, Paul.

The Breeze 48

Easter traditionally means the end of the high season and certainly things start to wind down a bit after this weekend. Of course, if you don’t like crowds, there is no better time to experience a cruise! Quite often we will be the only boat out on the harbours which really is great for those wanting to live the 100% Pure promise. In this update have a look at our latest news and promotions. Please let me know if we can help you in any way.

Cheers, Paul.

Orca in Akaroa

Just before Christmas we were lucky enough to be visited by a friendly pod of Orca in Akaroa Harbour. Around 8 of these impressive marine mammals spent time with our vessels and the one pictured below actually nudged one of our ’swimming with dolphins’ boats giving those on board a real thrill.
