Here is the latest in news and events from Black Cat Cruises. It’s been a great few months out on the water with lots of dolphins along with an incredible sighting of a rare Blue Whale. In our 25 years of cruises, that was a first! We also had Miss Italy swimming with dolphins, thousands of Easter eggs given away, a successful walk for hectors dolphins fundraiser and our April 1st prank – all making local or national news. Check out some of the great blogs and feedback we have received recently, it’s what Black Cat is all about – world class experiences. Thanks for reading.

After a somewhat dull summer in Canterbury, the weather really came right in February, making for some perfect cruising conditions. We are hoping the hot dry conditions will continue through Autumn. After the Chile earthquake yesterday and subsequent Tsunami alert, we made the decision to suspend all our cruises in the interests of safety. Today its back to business as usual so our apologies for any inconvenience yesterday. In this edition of the Breeze you will see we are supporting a Walk for Hectors, a great way to raise the profile of Hector's dolphins and yet another way for Black Cat to demonstrate our committment to conservation.

I'd like to wish you and your family a merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous 2010. This is the time when many New Zealanders and international visitors take a break and wind down from the busy period, and of course for the tourism industry its our busiest period. We have some great specials coming up with our cruise ship escort cruises, Quail Island treasure hunt and free fish and chips cruise in Akaroa. Also below are details of our new web site and the latest in wildlife sightings.

Cheers Paul
