Mum’s have opportunity to travel to France on Sunday

Mum's get the opportunity to travel to France this Sunday with a special cruise from Lyttelton to Akaroa with Black Cat Cruises.    

 "We have running this cruise for over 10 years," Black Cat Cruises Group Operations Manager Paul Milligan said. "It is a really unique opportunity to travel to the French surrounds of Akaroa from Lyttelton via sea and it usually sells out it's so popular."

Cat Lovers from around the world will descend on Akaroa in April next year to attend the International Cat Lovers Convention sponsored by leading New Zealand tourism operator Black Cat Cruises.

Close to 500 cat lovers are also expected to bring with them cats of all shapes and sizes. The four day convention features a range of seminars and key note speeches from leading world authorities on nutritional and training advice through to cat yoga and cat physio.

Free Easter eggs are on offer again on Quail Island with Black Cat Cruises this weekend.   

It has become a local tradition for the tourism operator to give away thousands of Easter eggs as part of an Easter egg hunt on the Lyttelton Harbour Island every Easter holidays.

"We have over three thousand eggs and four giant chocolate bunnies, one for each day, to give away this weekend," Black Cat Cruises Group Operations Manager Paul Milligan said.

The entrance to Akaroa Harbour welcomed a large pod of Bottlenose dolphins for the first time in recent memory today. 

Black Cat Cruises skipper Chris Jenkins said that he could not remember there ever being any sightings of Bottlenose dolphins in the area before.

The endless Kiwi summer welcomed one of the world's largest cruise ships to Akaroa today. 

The Queen Mary 2 arrived in picture perfect conditions in Akaroa Harbour this morning with two and a half thousand passengers and twelve hundred crew. Black Cat Cruises Managing Director Paul Bingham said it had been a very busy day for Akaroa and that his company had sold out its two special one hour cruises put on just to view the impressive ship.
